Tasting Notes: Sibeeria – IPA TONE 0301

While writing tasting notes for J&B Craft Drinks I came across this Kveik NEIPA from Sibeeria Brewery. Now I haven’t had a chance to try many Kveik IPAs but this became an instant favorite.

“Sibeeria – IPA TONE 0301 (Kveik IPA: El Dorado, Azacca)

A very interesting NEIPA with massive fruit notes from both the Kveik yeast and El Dorado & Azacca hops.

The best way to describe the aroma is Peach Danone; sweet, ripe peaches with some vanilla and a light lactic note. Diving deeper reveals sweet pineapple, raspberry and cherry candy, a hint of leafy herbs and a subtle grain note that equates to brioche breads.

In the flavour there’s a little more focus on citrus and citrus rind, specifically lime rind, and the herbaceous note comes through more in the finish. Medium to medium low body (the aroma leads you to expect higher), medium carbonation and a low bitter. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel, smooth texture and a touch of acidity.

I think they’ve got a winner on their hands.”
